| Now the York City Hall Annex, this building
was constructed in 1896 on the site of Yorks first elementary
school (circa 1851). It is essentially a Renaissance
Revival structure featuring swags,
stringcouse, distinct
horizontal divisions, pedimented
entrance, rusticated
ground level, and arched
windows. This structure was designed by Fred Dempwolf.
