Now the York City Hall Annex, this building was constructed in 1896 on the site of York’s first elementary school (circa 1851).  It is essentially a Renaissance Revival structure featuring swags, stringcouse, distinct horizontal divisions, pedimented entrance, rusticated ground level, and arched windows.  This structure was designed by Fred Dempwolf.
