| "The Quaker meeting has now
begun." Where you ask? Perhaps at York Citys oldest
house of worship, the Friends Meeting House. The east side of
this structure was built in 1766 by William
Willis, and expanded
in 1783. Today, it continues its 235-year tradition as a Friends
Meeting House. Listed on the National Register of Historic
Places, this is one of the oldest meeting houses in the United
States. Note the use of Flemish bond brickwork.
